Description
The General Electric Products WR07X10131 Overload PTCR Combo consolidates two electrical features into a single unit fitted for select refrigerator-freezer versions. The positive temperature coefficient resistor delivers a brief surge of current to the compressor motor at startup, then immediately increases its own resistance to withdraw from the circuit once the motor reaches operating speed in HVAC systems. The overload relay monitors current draw & cuts power if the compressor runs too hot or draws excessive amperage preventing burnout. Clipped directly onto the compressor terminals at the rear of the cabinet, it requires no rewiring beyond reconnecting the existing harness.
