The Bosch HVAC 7099006 Hot Surface Ignitor initiates fuel combustion in compatible gas-fired boilers and furnaces. Installed directly adjacent to the main burner assembly in HVAC systems, the ignitor element energizes upon receiving a heating signal from the control module. As electrical current flows through the element, its high resistive properties generate intense localized heat, glowing white-hot to ignite the incoming air-gas mixture. Obtaining a rapid ignition temperature eliminates the need for a continuous pilot light supporting consistent burner startup and continuous heating operation.
