The Xylem-Bell & Gossett 116051 Pressure Expansion Tank ASME B200 is a fluid management component to handle the thermal expansion in closed-loop hydronic systems used in HVAC systems. It uses an internal diaphragm that isolates the 53-gallon water chamber and a pre-pressurised air cushion that has the advantage of enabling the volume of water to grow without the undue spikes of pressure. It is installed in the supply or return piping of the system as per design, and it is connected to the hydraulic circuit and helps to maintain stability in pressure.
