The Power Flame Burners X04251 Flame Rod detects active combustion within a burner by measuring ionization current passing through the flame. Its metallic tip extends into the firebox, collecting micro-amp electrical charge from burning fuel and relaying a proven signal to the control panel. The rod secures onto the housing through a ceramic insulating mount, isolating the sensing tip electrically from surrounding metal. Thermal management units in HVAC systems use this rod to verify flame presence on every firing cycle, cutting fuel supply the moment ionization power drops outside the acceptable recognition range.
