Description
The A.O. Smith 9004586215 Blower Proving Switch is a safety part that ensures that flammable gases do not ignite within a residential or light commercial gas HVAC systems. It functions by continuously supervising the normal functioning of the appliance blower motor. In case the blower motor does not operate for a certain time after the ignition of the gas burner, the proving switch will cut off the gas supply to avoid a dangerous situation. This essential safety component is generally applied with gas furnaces, boilers, and other HVAC system appliances that are equipped with induced draft or forced draft venting.
