Description
The Watts 0004648 A2C M1 is an automatic washing machine cutoff valve with a leak sensor, intended to avoid water damage caused by ruptured washing machine hoses. It is integrated into the plumbing system of your house near the washing machine instead of being connected directly to HVAC equipment. This smart valve senses the current flow from the washing machine using an electronic control unit. The valve opens to let water flow when the washer is turned on. The valve automatically shuts off when the washer is turned off, keeping water from getting into the unit and possibly resulting in flooding. An additional layer of security is provided by the integrated leak sensor, which, if it detects any leakage around the washing machine hoses, causes the valve to quickly shut off.
