The ICM Controls ICM870-9A Soft-Start Capacitor Kit is used on HVAC system compressors by slowly increasing power and limiting the initial inrush current. It operates at 120/240 VAC and has a 9A capacity suitable for use in air conditioners, heat pumps, and refrigeration system. It provides a soft start kit that increases compressor life, reduces light flickering at startup, and increases overall system efficiency. It reduces mechanical stress as well as electrical Highs which can prevent tripped breakers and extend equipment longevity therefore it can be a better addition for residential and light commercial HVAC systems.
