Description
The Trane COM11196 Scroll Compressor is a robust and sturdy compressor for medium residential and light commercial air conditioning. This was a Trane model that used a scroll type of operation and not the piston type of compressor used in older models of air conditioners. Two intertwined scrolls located in the encased bodywork as a compressor, squeezing refrigerant gas. This design was equivalent to a 3.5-ton capacity, approximately 42,800 BTUH, which should be sufficient to handle moderate cooling loads in houses or small structures. The Trane COM11196 used R-22 refrigerant, which has been in a category that is experiencing more and more restrictions placed on it.
