The Trane COM10212 is a Scroll Compressor, a robust performer intended for large cooling applications in applications and incorporates R-410A refrigerant. This Trane compressor is not a piston type of compressor but operates through a scroll for enhanced performance. In the sealed housing, two intertwined scrolls work like a high-pressure pump and compress the refrigerant gas. This design equates to a massive 5-ton capacity, about 61,000 BTUH, which is useful in addressing heavy cooling loads in expansive areas. Leak-proof brazed stub tubes provide a safe path for the refrigerant to circulate.
