Description
The Trane COR0241 High Capacity Filtercore 48-DM is a replaceable desiccant filter that is compatible with Trane’s HVAC systems only. It is listed as having two lengths, which probably should be one, and is roughly a cylinder, standing approximately 4” tall and having a diameter of about 3.72”. Whereas other air filters are designed to capture dust, this filtercore is aimed at removing moisture in the refrigerant circuit. In this way, this reduces corrosion, freezing and decreases the efficiency of the system due to the presence of moisture. Unlike the fresh air intake, if there is too much of it, then undesirable outcomes like icing up of the coils will occur and this will prevent their cooling.
