Description
The Sterling-Sterlco D150G-175-215 temperature valve controls the flow of hot water in hydronic heating systems. It is a sweat connection valve, which means soldering is used to join it to copper pipes. The valve operates in the temperature range of 175 to 215 degrees Fahrenheit and has a 1/2-inch diameter. Included in it is a six-foot capillary, which is a long, thin tube that changes size in response to temperature. The liquid inside the tube is temperature-sensitive. The liquid in the capillary expands as the system’s water temperature rises, closing the valve as a result. By doing this, the hot water flow is decreased and the system is kept from overheating.
