Description
The Trane CPT2642 is an oval run capacitor, also known as a fixed capacitor which is a passive electrical component that stores electrical energy in an electrostatic field. This surge is supplied by the Trane capacitor, into the motor so the right operating speed is achieved. After the motor has accelerated to its operating speed, it discharges from the circuit and the energy consumption by the motor decreases. Supplies the needed AC at present to enable the motors of HVAC systems to turn over properly. Thus, minimizing the stress due to the high amount of start-up currents, the capacitor will go a long way in increasing the longevity of the motor. It protects motors during starting, minimizes energy consumption, and has an easy mounting system.
