Description
The Trane COM13122 Scroll Compressor was a now obsolete, but robust product that was intended for cooling residential structures of small to medium sizes. Different from the conventional piston type of compressor, this Trane model used scroll for its functioning. In the closed casing, the two entwined scrolls work as an efficient pump, compressing the refrigerant gas. This design was translated to a 2.33-ton capacity, appropriate for handling moderate cooling loads in homes. The Trane COM13122 used R-22 refrigerant, an option which has increasing environmental constraints. Through the effective compression of this refrigerant, the compressor set off the main heat exchange process in Trane HVAC system.
