The Trane CTR2642 is a heavy-duty electromagnetic switch is used to control high-power electrical loads in Trane HVAC systems. This contactor is a powerful relay, with a compact design under 5″ in length. The stable electrical connections are ensured by the screw clamp termination design. The CTR2642 is crucial in monitoring electrical flow within your HVAC system while acting as part of a larger contactor assembly. When a low voltage signal 120 V in this case is sent to its coil sold separately, it activates and creates a magnetic field. The contactor then activates a switch within the magnetic field.
