Description
The Trane TRR2816 is a transformer used in the HVAC measuring equipment. It transforms readily available standard high voltage AC (208/240V) into a much safer and less voltage (24V) necessary for operating the low power control circuits of the HVAC system. It reduces the voltage to a level manageable by the fragile hardware of the microcircuit. This of course, is how transformers work; based on electromagnetic induction, in which changing current through one coil produces current in an adjacent coil. Varying the number of turns in each coil affects voltage change and doing is controllable.
