Description
The Trane SWT2868 is a 15-55°F automatic reset temperature switch for use in furnaces, air conditioners, and heat pumps. This safety control switch monitors temperature and cuts off electrical connections when temperature exceeds predetermined limits. The ambient temperature is measured by a sealed capillary tube within the switch. On temperature rise, the capillary fluid expands and presses a bellows switch. In this case, the bellows activate a mechanism that opens and closes the electrical circuit and shuts down associated equipment when the temperature gets above a determined temperature or 55°F that acts as a safety measure to prevent overheating and some damage to the imminent HVAC system.
