Description
The Rheem-Ruud 47-23683-10 is a limit switch/defrost sensor that is applied for use in HVAC systems. This part has two uses: it is a limit switch and a defrost sensor with auto reset kind. In the capacity of a limit switch it is used to check the temperature of the system and to stop the machinery if the temperature rises above the set limits. It also serves as a defrost sensor to detect formation of frost and to control the defrost cycle of heat pumps and their efficiency. This sensor is used extensively in heat pumps and air conditioning because in those applications the control of temperature and defrosting is critical.
