Description
The Rheem-Ruud SP11309W Magnesium Anode Rod protects the interior tank surface of water heating equipment by attracting corrosive elements present in the water supply before they can attack the tank lining. Its magnesium construction operates as a sacrificial metal that gradually deteriorates in place of the steel tank, extending standard duration for HVAC systems such as commercial water heating units, hydronic storage tanks, boiler water systems, and residential hot water parts. This 0.750-inch diameter by 53-3/8-inch long rod threads into the tank opening where continuous corrosion protection is required during operation. Its corrosion-control properties reduce internal tank deterioration.
