Description
The Carrier HH18HA197 Limit Switch is an essential safety part in heating and cooling systems that is intended to stop overheating of the system and possible fire risks. This electromechanical part serves as a protection, measuring temperature in the furnace or air handler. It operates using a bimetallic strip or a temperature sensitive component that changes its length with change in temperature. When the temperature within the unit rises to a certain level the switch opens to break the circuit in the heating element or the gas valve.
