Description
The Trane MOT15141 is a variable speed motor; this is an essential part of Trane HVAC systems that needs a motor with modulating capabilities for the fan. In contrast to single-speed motors that are used in most fans, this can adjust the rate of rotation to fit the heating or cooling requirements within an area. This variation is made possible by internal control that operates in conjunction with the thermostat of the HVAC system. During part load conditions, the motor runs at lower speeds hence consuming less energy, improved efficiency and possibly reduced electricity tariffs. This particular Trane motor is a beast: it has 1 horsepower and can reach up to 1800 RPM.
