Description
The Mueller Industries AJ15514 is a safety device called a pressure relief valve. It is an essential factor in the safeguard of HVAC equipment from pressure that may rise to a dangerous level. It is intended for use with refrigerant lines, and has NPTFE thread on the inlet side to ensure that it does not come off easily and a flared outlet for easy connection. It is pre-set to a certain pressure rating and in this case, the pressure rating is 450 PSI. If tension within the system raises any higher than this degree, the relief valve opens and brings out unnecessary refrigerant to eliminate possible harm to the compressor along with other elements.
