Description
The Copeland 514-2000-45 Capacitor & Relay Assembly is an essential part developed for HVAC systems to increase the performance of single-phase capacitor-start motors. This assembly useds a capacitor and a relay to enable proper starting and operation of compressors in air conditioners and refrigerators. Since it affords the motor the necessary starting torque, it is used to help the motor counteract inertia and run smoothly. The assembly operates based on the use of the capacitor to develop a phase shift that is essential in developing the torque needed to start the motor. After that the motor speed increases up the relay opens the capacitor circuit hence allowing the motor to operate independently.
