The York S1-025-39903-000 Crankcase Heater is an element that sustains the climate compressors of HVAC devices at appropriate temperatures. It is a 460-volt heater that consumes 70 watts to warm the lubricant in the crankcase of the compressor to avoid thickening or turning viscous. This crankcase heater helps to prevent oil thickening, therefore the amount of friction on internal parts is minimized. This results in higher efficiency in the compressor, longer equipment life, and higher system efficiency as well. It also protects the compressor from any harm that may be caused by low oil pressure at start-up in cold climates.
