Trane VAL18892 is a thermal expansion valve also known as TXV that aims to enhance functionality in commercial HVAC systems which utilize equipment from R410A refrigerant. There is a possibility of regarding it as a gatekeeper that regulates the access of the refrigerant into the evaporator coil. It has the brazed connections and is only 4” long. However, the Trane VAL18892 is fairly small with the 7-ton capability more suitable for use in commercial buildings. The operation of the thermostatic actuator depends on the temperature of the refrigerant gas passing through the evaporator coil and before it leaves the coil.
