Description
The Trane SWT3588 is a pressure switch measuring 4.7″ long and controls HVAC system pressure. The Trane is a single-pole single-throw contact type with a pressure rating of 1.39″ of Water Column. When this pressure reaches the stated limit, the switch turns off the electrical current on its own. High pressure can make it turn out our furnace or compressor, and it can cause our furnace or compressor to respond by shutting the furnace or compressor off to try to prevent potential harm to our furnace or compressor by the high pressure. When the pressure drops cool enough the switch cuts the circuit and normal operation is restored.
