The Trane MOT19647 1/2 horsepower, a 3-phase electric motor is a heavy-duty motor intended for use in a range of temperature controlled equipment including refrigeration systems. The 3-phase motors than the single-phase motors are better as they will have enough cutting torque at the start which is when a fan or compressor in a chiller or air conditioner is being powered. The motor is small, with a 48 frame size and offers a nice blend of power and size for a variety of HVAC applications. The motor can handle voltages between 208 and 230 volts and runs at a standard frequency of 60 Hz. It runs at a single speed in a counter-clockwise direction.
