The Carrier EB51LW122 Valve Relief is a safety device that is used in various types of HVAC equipment such as furnaces and air conditioners. By automatically releasing excess pressure that may accumulate during operation, it protects the system. By reducing pressure possible damages to the equipment are prevented hence ensuring safety during operation. While the system is running normally, the valve remains shut most of the time. In contrast to the check valve, the valve opens to let pressure out if pressure increases to the predetermined specified level and closes to prevent said pressure when pressure returns to a safer level.
