Description
The Fireye C9501N5023 UV Scanner is a safety device used in HVAC equipment, such as gas, oil, and coal-fired burners, to detect the presence of a flame. It operates by directing ultraviolet light into the combustion chamber and determining the color of the light that is reflected. The scanner picks up on a particular UV light wavelength that is released as a flame burns. The control system receives a signal from this detection, guaranteeing correct operation. Conversely, the scanner alerts the control system to turn off the burner to avert possible safety risks like gas leaks or explosions if it detects no UV light signature of a flame. A 3/4″ purge hole and a 40-foot connection are included with the Fireye C9501N5023 UV Scanner for flexible installation.
