Description
The Armstrong International 811-1/2-200 1/2″ inverted bucket steam trap works under pressures up to 200 PSI. This mechanical trap is designed to take advantage of the difference in density between steam and condensate to control the discharge of condensate. When steam gets in, the inverted bucket is filled and it lifts and shuts the valve to avoid loss of steam. When the steam condenses itself then the bottom of the bucket will drop thereby opening the valve for release of condensate. This trap is used in HVAC systems, heat exchangers, and laundry equipment among others, some advantages include high water hammer resistance, reliability under steady loads, and low maintenance due to its plain design.
