Description
The Amana-Goodman 0130F00035 Auto-Limit Switch is a protection part used in the residential and light commercial applications for heating and cooling equipment including furnaces, air conditioners, and heat pumps. It works by measuring various temperatures in the system including that of the compressor or blower motor, preferably its compartment. If the temperature rises beyond a certain level commonly ranging from 90°F to 220°F depending on the application, the limit switch trips and breaks the electrical supply to the component in question. This action is quite useful in halting operations within the system to avoid further loss and probably fire risks.
