The Carrier HD46MQ139 is a variable-speed blower motor and is a device used in home climate control equipment such as furnaces, air conditioners, or heat pumps. Unlike original single-speed motors, they utilize ECM technology. This enables it to vary its speed to the requirements of the system in which it is located. In essence, the motor is comprised of permanent magnets and electronic switches that turn an impeller. Further, the speed of the impeller can be controlled by changing the power supply to the motor with a high degree of accuracy. This means that the compressor will run at lower speeds, normally during system start-up or in maintaining comfort levels.
