The Emerson Flow Control (Alco) 047500 is a 1/4-inch Normally Closed solenoid valve suitable for the R22 refrigerant systems up to 1.27 ton. This is used in HVAC systems as a make up of the refrigerant where flow is controlled with the aid of solenoids. This valve operates on a simple Concept: when energized the solenoid opens and the refrigerant flows through the valve. When de-energized the valve shuts and no flow of refrigerant will occur.
