The Watts 0067373 14-gallon potable water expansion tank is designed to protect plumbing systems in residential and light commercial settings from the damaging effects of thermal expansion. As water heats, its volume increases, creating pressure within the closed plumbing system. Inside the tank, a pre-charged air bladder separates the system water from the compressed air. As the water heats and expands, it flows into the tank, compressing the air bladder further.
